L-R : Rubén Salvador, Anthony Stephen, Willy Gascón, Ángel "Choco" Muñoz
Nearly one month ago, Willy Gascón communicated to the other members of Steel Horse his unilateral decision of leaving the band for personal reasons after releasing the third album to be called "Call Me Death" which was in its final stages of recording by our new singer Anthony Stephen. The agreement at that time was releasing the album and playing all the live commitments acquired after the summer with Omission. After that tour the band would dissolve as long as Willy Gascón was the band leader.
Last week, again unilaterally by Willy Gascón and citing personal problems within the group this time, we received the news that the album we had been two years working at and its tour were both canceled, being damaged by this decision ourselves, the fans and the promoters involved in this tour.
We deeply regret that our fans will not be able to enjoy a great album in which we had put so much effort and the losses that this attitude can induce to those who trusted in the band.
The remaining members of Steel Horse: Rubén Salvador, Ángel Muñoz and Stephen Anthony will now continue under a new name. Soon we will give more details on this new musical time that we face with optimism and enthusiasm.
STEEL HORSE Line-up :
Anthony Stephen - Vocals
Willy Gascón - Guitars and keyboards
Ángel "Choco" Muñoz - Bass Guitar
Rubén Salvador - Drums
Ángel "Choco" Muñoz
After a few months from the split up, what is the progress of your new project? Tells us a bit about the new band?
Well, we took the summer for some free time and get new faces, and since September we've been working hard, playing some covers to warm up, writing songs, arranging, looking for names, lyric concepts, we've got 4 songs finished right now, and soon we will start recording them to make our first EP under our new name to be revealed soon with its logo.
The line-up consists of Ruben on drums, Anthony on vocals and myself on bass guitar of course, and we recruited two very talented guitar players, Luis Pinedo and Victor Diaz.
What can the fans and new fans of the new band can expect?
These first songs, I feel that they are all slightly different between them and most Heavy Metal fans will find something they like, with influences from US Heavy Metal bands like Racer X, M.A.R.S. Project or even early Queensryche and of course there's our usual love for Judas Priest!
So you can expect something a little more technical than we used to make with Steel Horse, but remaining catchy and funny, we didn't turn into any progressive metal madness.
There will be a very cool lyric and image concept that we are just starting to work on, and it won't leave anyone indifferent. Probably we will have a great videoclip when we release that first EP.
If you can pick all the musician all around the world, what are your dream line up?Your idea of the band?
I think this one we have is almost my dream line-up in Spain, if I could get from any time, and anywhere, we could do something like M.A.R.S. Project mk II:
Vocals: Mike Vescera
Guitars: Paul Gilbert, Yngwie (Alcatrazz times)
Bass: Myself, and they'll never fire me :)
Drums: Cozy Powell
Stay tuned for the latest news from them. Gracias.
